Declaración conjunta
La 7a. ronda de negociaciones para el tratado propuesto, ACTA, se llevó a cabo en Guadalajara, México, del 26 al 29 de enero de 2010 siendo el anfitrión México. Los participantes en las negociaciones incluyeron representantes de Australia, Canadá, la Unión Europea -representada por la Comisión Europea-, la Presidencia de la Unión Europea (España), y los Estados miembros, Japón, Corea, México, Moroco, Nueva Zelanda, Singapur, Suiza y Estados Unidos).

La reunión fué presidida por el Lic. Jorge Amigo, Director General y Gilda González, Director Adjunto del Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial, IMPI. Los participantes subrayaron la importancia de ACTA como un acuerdo que deberá proveer un marco mejorado para luchar en contra de la violación de derechos de propiedad intelectual a nivel global, particularmente en el contexto de falsificación y piratería.
Las discusiones durante la reunión fueron productivas y enfocadas en la aplicación civil, aplicación en frontera y aplicación de derechos en el entorno digital. Recordando el punto de vista compartido acerca de la importancia de proveer de oportunidades para enriquecer la participación pública, los participantes reafirmaron su compromiso por intensificar sus respectivos esfuerzos para generar dichas oportunidades y colectivamente mejorar la transparencia.
Los participantes en la reunión estuvieron de acuerdo en que la siguiente reunión se lleve a cabo en Nueva Zelanda en abril de 2010.
Los participantes igualmente reafirmaron su compromiso para continuar con el trabajo con el objetivo de concluir con las negociaciones del acuerdo antes de que concluya 2010.

Joint Statement
The 7th round of negotiations on the proposed Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) was held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from January 26 to 29, 2010, hosted by Mexico. Participants in the negotiations included Australia, Canada, the European Union, represented by the European Commission, the EU Presidency (Spain), and EU Member States, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States of America (alphabetically ordered).
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jorge Amigo, Director-General, and Ms. Gilda Gonzalez, Deputy Director General, Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). Participants underlined the importance of ACTA as an agreement which shall provide for an enhanced framework to fight global infringement of intellectual property rights, particularly in the context of counterfeiting and piracy.
The discussions at the meeting were productive and focused on civil enforcement, border enforcement and enforcement of rights in the digital environment. Recalling their shared view of the importance of providing opportunities for meaningful public input, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to intensify their respective efforts to provide such opportunities and collectively enhance transparency.
Participants in the meeting agreed that the next meeting would be hosted by New Zealand in April 2010. Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to continue their work with the aim of concluding the agreement by the end of 2010.
